My boys (ages 4 and 6) loved the characters and the colorful pictures, and it helped us look more closely at leaves and rocks on one of our walks. And they are looking forward to the sequel! It's a very educational book to me that there are so many colors in in fish and rocks etc. So educational and it had the pronunciation next to the words that you can teach 2year olds how to pronounce . It's color and graphics entertain the youngest pre-reader. As the child matures there are simple words and concepts that can be explained by the parents. School age children can be more challenged by scientific explanations of how seasons cause trees to change color and why the Northern Lights appear in the sky.
